Oncology RN Job Details

• Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Weston, WV 26452 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (option to extend)
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (07:00 - 15:00), Monday–Friday
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1750–$1790
• EMR System: Cerner
• Scrubs: Not provided (purple required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact State (pending license considered)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in oncology nursing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
• Proficient in IV starts, inpatient oncology care, and chemotherapy administration
• Ability to provide 2 recent manager or charge nurse references (within past 2 years)
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility (75–100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)

Oncology Nurse Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments safely and effectively to oncology patients
• Monitor and manage side effects of cancer treatments
• Start and maintain IVs, access/manage ports, and provide central line care
• Educate patients and families on oncology treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including pharmacy, respiratory, and rapid response
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
• Follow neutropenic precautions and manage cytotoxic spills as needed
• Support patient safety and comfort throughout the continuum of oncology care
