Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: Portland, Maine (zip 04102)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (varied start times: 7:00PM-7:30AM, 8:00PM-8:00AM, etc.)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
Call Requirement: Minimal
Float Requirement: Yes
Unit: PACU – 21 bays
Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:3
EMR: EPIC
Scrub Color: Green or blue provided; personal scrubs permitted
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880-$2020

PACU Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of PACU or ICU nursing experience required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Experience with post-anesthesia care and Phase 2 recovery
Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
Preferred: Experience with EPIC EMR and Level 1 trauma center

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-anesthesia and critical care patients in the PACU
Monitor patient recovery and respond promptly to changes in condition
Operate clinical equipment including Abbot Pumps, CAD pumps, Venodynes, and Philips monitors
Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Float to other nursing units as required
Maintain professional attire and adhere to hospital dress code standards
