Oncology RN Job Details – Greenville, North Carolina
- Location: Greenville, NC 27834 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Unit: Cancer Center Surgical Oncology – 32-bed flex unit (intermediate and general care)
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (self-scheduling available)
- Staffing Ratio: 1:4 RN-to-patient
- Weekend/Holiday: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; 3 out of 4 holidays
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact RN licenses accepted for North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience, preferably in oncology or surgical nursing
- Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips
- Must reside outside an 80-mile radius from Greenville, NC
- Willingness to float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed
- All requested time off must be approved prior to assignment confirmation
Oncology RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology and surgical patients, including those requiring surgical intervention and benign surgical care
- Care for patients from diverse specialties: ENT, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic, and plastic surgery
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding promptly to changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in self-scheduling and maintain flexibility to support unit needs
- Float to other clinical units as required, providing clinical support across the hospital
