CVICU RN Job Details
- Location: Urbana, IL 61801 (Illinois travel nursing jobs)
- Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Stepdown
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (12/1/2025 – 2/28/2026)
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2190
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent nursing experience in CVICU or Stepdown (critical care nursing preferred)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to CVICU and stepdown patients, including post-op CABG, vascular, and ICU status cases
- Conduct initial nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for cardiovascular patients
- Implement, monitor, and modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluations
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all nursing care and interventions
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Participate in hourly rounding and proactively support patients and fellow healthcare professionals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment in the CVICU
- Fulfill all departmental competencies and pursue ongoing professional development in critical care nursing
