Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Tupelo, MS 38801 (Mississippi healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (16 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: December 3, 2025 or December 17, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3-1-3 or 6 on/8 off (details at contract start)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
• Floating: Required to other stepdown units
• Weekend & Holiday: Rotations required (Christmas Eve/Day and New Year's Eve/Day)
• EMR: Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Mississippi RN license (Registered Nurse)
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or acute care nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia tests (minimum 80%)
• Flexible and fully available for scheduling (no block/self-scheduling)
• Not employed at NMMC as perm/per diem in past 12 months
• Willing to float to units within competency

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 16-bed unit
• Monitor and assess patients with complex cardiac and neurological conditions
• Administer medications and manage IVs using Omnicell system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop patient care plans
• Document patient care in Epic EMR
• Float to other stepdown units as needed
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
