Join a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital, providing specialized clinical care to adult and geriatric pre- and post-operative transplant, nephrology, and urology patients. PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Charleston, SC (ZIP 29425) – South Carolina nursing jobs
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570
- Healthcare Setting: 22-bed intermediate PCU/medical-surgical unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00pm – 7:30am), every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Charting System: EPIC electronic medical records
- Scrub Color: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
- Parking: Convenient garage parking available
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN License (pending license considered with proof of application)
- Certifications required (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Skills in blood product administration, central line care/management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, cardiac and vasoactive drips, rapid response/code teams, computerized documentation
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to pre- and post-transplant, nephrology, and urology patients
- Monitor stepdown patients with arterial lines and specialized drips
- Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and vasoactive drips
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and participate in rapid response/code situations
- Document care using EPIC EMR
- Engage in ongoing transplant-specific education and pursue specialty nursing certifications
- Float to other nursing units as needed within scope of practice
