Travel Nursing Job Details – Marquette, MI
- Location: Marquette, Michigan 49855 (Upper Peninsula)
- Healthcare Setting: Observation Unit, 225-bed specialty care hospital
- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm-7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours (0.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period)
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Rotating weekends and holidays
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020
- Patient Population: Adult patients (18+)
- Unit Size: 10 beds
- Electronic Health Record: Cerner
- Dress Code: Galaxy blue scrubs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Michigan or compact state (required for Michigan nursing jobs)
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- NIH Stroke Scale and Tele/ECG competency
- Ability to float to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Preferred: Telemetry experience; TNCC or ENPC certifications
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in the Observation Unit
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on provider orders and patient needs
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to hospital protocols
- Monitor and report vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic findings
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document all nursing interventions and patient responses in Cerner EHR
- Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
- Support safe transitions of care and coordinate follow-up appointments
- Respond to emergencies and perform interventions within RN scope of practice
- Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for better patient outcomes
