Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Illinois nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Cardiac Stepdown/IMC Unit
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15); 3x12 or 4x12 per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA or Red Cross only)
- ACLS certification preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response teams
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float within hospital and affiliate hospitals
- Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Cardiac Stepdown/IMC unit
- Monitor and manage cardiac patients post-angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, and cardiac surgery
- Interpret dysrhythmias and perform telemetry monitoring
- Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and blood products
- Care for ventilated patients, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and high-flow oxygen therapies
- Manage feeding tubes, central lines, arterial lines, PICC lines, and perform phlebotomy
- Support patients with neurological, orthopedic, and plastic surgery needs, including trauma and post-surgical care
- Implement isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac therapies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other nursing units as needed to meet facility needs
