Oncology RN Job Details
- Location: Greenville, NC 27834 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Cancer Center Medical Oncology (48-bed unit)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1800
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling; 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Start Date: December 1, 2025
- End Date: March 3, 2026
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience preferred
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- Must pass EKG and Pharmacology exams during compliance process (pre-start)
- All requested time off must be negotiated prior to confirmation
Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, immunocompromised states, and complex medication/fluid management needs
- Administer chemotherapy and manage continuous infusion medications
- Perform pain management, wound vac dressing changes, and manage wound drains
- Care for patients with central lines, tracheotomies, and chest tubes
- Initiate IVs, perform peripheral and arterial blood draws
- Administer and monitor intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and provide cardiac monitoring
- Analyze cardiac rhythms (no monitor techs on unit)
- Collaborate with ancillary healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
