Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Greenville, NC 27834 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cancer Center Medical Oncology (48-bed unit)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1800
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling; 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 3, 2026

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience preferred
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Must pass EKG and Pharmacology exams during compliance process (pre-start)
• All requested time off must be negotiated prior to confirmation

Oncology Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, immunocompromised states, and complex medication/fluid management needs
• Administer chemotherapy and manage continuous infusion medications
• Perform pain management, wound vac dressing changes, and manage wound drains
• Care for patients with central lines, tracheotomies, and chest tubes
• Initiate IVs, perform peripheral and arterial blood draws
• Administer and monitor intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and provide cardiac monitoring
• Analyze cardiac rhythms (no monitor techs on unit)
• Collaborate with ancillary healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
