Registered Nurse Job Details

- Unit: Neuro Trauma/Neurosurgical ICU (17 beds) – Surgical Services C9I
- Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (NOC); every other weekend and holiday required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2070

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience; neuro trauma/neurosurgical ICU experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to neuro trauma and neurosurgical ICU patients
- Monitor and manage patients with EVDs, lumbar drains, post spine surgery, craniotomy, stroke, trauma, and spinal cord injuries
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and recovery expectations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment
