Houston Nursing Job Details

• Location: Houston, TX 77054 (Texas Medical Center)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1610 - $1730
• Setting: 35-bed Labor & Delivery Unit, 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center
• Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
• Strong clinical skills in laboring patient care, antepartum, and PACU recovery
• Preferred: OR Circulation experience for Cesarean Sections, placement of FSE and IUPC

L&D RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring for maternal and fetal safety
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and PACU recovery
• Administer medications including Pitocin, cervical ripening agents, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensive therapies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist services
• Document patient care accurately using CPN (Centricity) and Meditech EMR systems
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and family-centered environment for patients
