Houston Nursing Job Details
- Location: Houston, TX 77054 (Texas Medical Center)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1610 - $1730
- Setting: 35-bed Labor & Delivery Unit, 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center
- Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
- Strong clinical skills in laboring patient care, antepartum, and PACU recovery
- Preferred: OR Circulation experience for Cesarean Sections, placement of FSE and IUPC
L&D RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring for maternal and fetal safety
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and PACU recovery
- Administer medications including Pitocin, cervical ripening agents, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensive therapies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist services
- Document patient care accurately using CPN (Centricity) and Meditech EMR systems
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and family-centered environment for patients
