Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in cardiac physiology, EKG interpretation, and cardiovascular medications
- Ability to respond to cardiac emergencies and deliver immediate nursing interventions
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
OR RN Responsibilities – Cardiology Stress Test Technician
- Conduct exercise and pharmacologic cardiac stress tests following established protocols and provider orders
- Perform pre-test patient assessments: health history, medications, vital signs, and contraindication screening
- Place and monitor EKG leads, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other physiologic indicators during testing
- Identify EKG changes, arrhythmias, symptoms, or safety concerns; escalate or intervene as needed
- Administer medications for stress testing (Lexiscan/regadenoson, dobutamine) per protocol and RN licensure
- Document procedures, patient responses, and clinical data in the EMR
- Educate patients about procedures, expectations, risks, and follow-up instructions
- Ensure equipment functionality, cleanliness, and readiness; troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and diagnostic imaging teams to coordinate testing and patient flow
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
