ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Frankfort, KY 40601 (Kentucky ICU nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/27/2025 – 1/26/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470–$1570
- Facility: State-of-the-art, 10-bed ICU unit with modern equipment (Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, Vents, glucometer)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00), three shifts per week, every other weekend required
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 3:1
- Documentation: Meditech Expanse
- Support Team: Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Externs
- Dress Code: Navy or gray scrubs
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Active Kentucky or Compact RN license (required for submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (annual renewal)
- Clinical proficiency in CPAP/BiPAP management, port access, therapeutic phlebotomy
- Preferred: Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusion, ventilators
- Ability to float to PCU, 3rd floor, or Emergency Department (ED) as needed
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor and assess patient status, respond to changes, and implement appropriate interventions
- Perform advanced nursing procedures: telemetry monitoring, BiPAP management, therapeutic phlebotomy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care in Meditech Expanse
- Participate in unit activities, staff recognition, and ongoing professional development
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
