Telemetry RN Job Details – Augusta, GA
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Location: Augusta, Georgia 30901
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Telemetry Unit (36 beds, average daily census: 35)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
- Total Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, as needed to other units
- Call Requirement: None
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660 - $1700
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Active Georgia or Compact State RN license (must be valid at time of application)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS certification preferred)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
- Experience managing a 1:4-5 patient ratio in a telemetry or cardiac unit
- Skilled in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration): milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem, lidocaine, bumex, heparin
- Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements to ensure timely start
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry/cardiac unit
- Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage IVs, including cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Care for patients with CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, hypertension/hypotension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and other vascular conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Float to other nursing units as required by hospital needs
