PCU RN Job Details – Tucson, AZ
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1650 - $1770
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- Healthcare Setting: 21-bed Progressive Care Unit (1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), weekends required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Float Requirement: Float to NSO, ON, and Telemetry units within skillset
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – American Heart Association
- Ability to float to similar units as needed (NSO, ON, Telemetry)
- Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex diagnoses (CHF, Afib with RVR, hypoxia, post-cardiac procedures, and more)
- Monitor and titrate vasoactive drips (Nicardipine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone, Dopamine)
- Assist with special procedures: arterial sheath removal, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, thrombolytic administration
- Operate and manage advanced clinical equipment (Vapotherm O2, arterial lines, IV pumps, wound vacs, chest tubes, PCA/epidural devices)
- Perform frequent patient assessments and therapeutic interventions every 2-4 hours
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other nursing units within skillset as required
