Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37207 (ideal for those seeking Tennessee nursing jobs or Nashville healthcare opportunities)
• Unit: 6th, Post-Op Medical-Surgical (34 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Hours per Week: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530-$1640
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• EMR: Meditech
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state (required for all travel nurse jobs in TN)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong clinical skills: IV starts, wound care, surgical drain, nasogastric tube, and chest tube maintenance
• Ability to prioritize patient care, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to post-operative and medical-surgical patients
• Conduct bedside shift reports and build positive relationships with patients and families
• Collaborate with healthcare techs and unit secretaries for seamless clinical support
• Operate and monitor equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication devices
• Accurately document patient care and interventions in Meditech EMR
• Float to other hospital units as needed, per rotation policy
