Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: South Charleston, WV 25309 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care, 32-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: February 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am), 36 hours/week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend/Holiday: Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1860-$2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (West Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with post-operative, surgical, orthopedics, and urology patients
• Ability to titrate drips (Heparin protocol; cardiac drip experience preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; collaborate with remote monitoring techs and charge nurses
• Manage nurse/patient ratios of 1:6 and work with nurse aides (1:10 ratio)
• Utilize respiratory therapy equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, IV pumps, pulse oximetry, and sequential compression devices
• Titrate drips per protocol and respond to changes in patient condition
• Float to other units (3P, 4P, Emergency Department boarders) as needed
• Participate in unit orientation, skills checklist, and ongoing training
• Adhere to dress code: Navy scrubs for RNs, closed-toed shoes, solid color attire
