Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Uniontown, PA 15401 (Laurel Highlands region)
• Healthcare Setting: 3W Stepdown (IMCU- Telemetry/Stepdown)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & one winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1860–$2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Pennsylvania or compact state; willing to wait for license submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (Stepdown, Telemetry, or Cardiac nursing preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac monitor strips
• Skilled in titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin)
• Experience with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow oxygen therapies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, dysrhythmias, strokes (CVAs), and those transferred from ICU
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; serve as central monitor station for the hospital
• Titrate cardiac drips and manage advanced oxygen therapies
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR system
• Float to ICU as needed to provide clinical support
• Participate in floor-specific orientation (2 shifts with a preceptor)
• Comply with hospital policies, including scrub color (navy blue)
