Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License – required for New York nursing jobs
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in an acute Med/Surg setting
• Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
• Specialize in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
• Promote a healing environment by offering emotional support and comfort
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and healthcare safety protocols
• Document nursing care provided and patient/family responses
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development
