Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Position Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Gadsden, Alabama (35903) – Alabama nursing jobs
• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45pm - 7:15am), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025, End: 3/16/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Compact RN License or Alabama Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nursing requirement)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status, progress, and vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines
