ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, Illinois (61605) – Illinois healthcare jobs
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 8 beds, high acuity
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am), rotating weekends and holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Charting System: Epic EMR

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in progress)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Clinical skills in PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care, tracheostomy management
• Proficient in caring for sedated, ventilated patients and titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips
• Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
• Negative drug screen required (OSF is a Drug-Free Campus)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill ICU patients, including those with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Titrate and manage ICU-level drips (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem, and more)
• Perform PEG tube care/feedings, manage central lines, and care for tracheostomy patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory therapists and tele-health MDs
• Float to Medical-Surgical units as needed to support patient care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development
