Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (Finger Lakes region)
Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Position
Start Date: January 6, 2026
End Date: April 4, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 (Full Time)
Shift: Day/Night Rotation (12-hour shifts), every other weekend & holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1930

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med/Surg RN in an acute care setting
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI required)
NIHSS certification
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with diverse medical conditions
Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Monitor patient progress, document care, and adjust plans as needed
Promote patient safety, comfort, and emotional support in a healing environment
Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
Comply with infection prevention strategies and hospital safety protocols
