Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Nursing Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/15/2026)
• On-Site Position
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470 - $1570

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or compact state nursing license
• Current BLS certification (AHA required)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or related clinical nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)
• Administer cardiac medications and treatments per protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing interventions
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on cardiac conditions and recovery plans
• Support the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of cardiac patients and their families
• Delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare staff as appropriate
• May float to CHRISTUS Longview facility based on patient census needs
• Participate in ongoing nursing competency and skills validation programs
