Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Harvey, Illinois 60426 (Chicago suburb)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical, Float Pool
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within the Float Pool
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1500 - $1540

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (required)
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (must be in hand)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation (for telemetry nursing positions)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract
• Two professional references (one from a direct supervisor/manager)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment
• Float between hospital units as needed to support patient care
• Monitor, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical records
• Participate in rapid response and emergency situations as required
• Work every other weekend and accommodate flexible scheduling needs
