Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Springfield, Illinois 62769
Unit: Medical/Surgical Unit 4
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Start Date: December 22, 2025
End Date: March 22, 2026
Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,980 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license required
At least 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts permitted)
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in accordance with Illinois healthcare standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians
Educate patients and families on health management, discharge planning, and post-hospital care
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards
