- Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Pediatric Surgery
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 (Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
- Setting: Pediatric Operating Room (Pediatric OR)
- Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 2x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00), Monday - Friday; holidays as needed
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation: Approximately 32 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,180 - $2,240
Qualifications – Operating Room Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license (must be in hand at submittal)
- BLS certification through American Heart Association (required)
- PALS certification (preferred for pediatric nursing jobs)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from Madison, WI (local candidates not accepted)
- Pass/Fail telemetry exam required prior to start
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary Operating Room team to plan and deliver patient care for pediatric and adult surgical cases
- Coordinate and communicate OR activities to ensure efficient surgical case progression and turnover
- Float to multiple units as needed to support hospital staffing requirements
- Provide care for neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatric, and adult patients
- Demonstrate proficiency in pediatric OR procedures: trauma response, congenital anomaly repair, spinal fusion, craniotomy, and more
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols including fire, laser, and infection control in the operating room
- Participate in pass/fail testing and maintain active telemetry competency
