- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT Unit
- Start Date: January 6, 2026
- End Date: April 7, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820 - $1950
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Patient Ratios: 1:3
- Charting System: EPIC
- Floating: Within hospital as needed
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology and BMT/cellular therapy nursing experience required
- First-time travel nurses accepted with 3+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Active or pending Oregon RN license (application must be submitted and received by licensing board)
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider card by APHON or ONS required
- Epic charting experience required
- Professional nursing references required
- Ability to float within hospital units as needed
Pediatric Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver intermediate level care to pediatric patients (ages 0-18, some up to 25) with hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant diagnoses
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, monitor patient responses, and provide post-administration care
- Support bone marrow transplant infusions and related clinical procedures
- Manage central lines, ports, and intravenous therapies
- Implement neutropenic precautions and symptom management protocols
- Perform moderate sedation for procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, etc.)
- Float to support Hem/Onc/BMT patients on other nursing units as needed
