Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Des Plaines, IL 60016 (Chicago Metro Area)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing, On-Site
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 8, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,360 - $1,460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing setting
• Ability to float to other medical/surgical and telemetry units as needed
• Completion of all onboarding requirements, including skills checklists and competency exams
• Current immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, TB test, Fit Test)
• Professional references and updated nursing resume required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing procedures as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management strategies
• Float to other clinical units to support hospital staffing needs as required
