Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia 25401
- Unit: 4 North – Ortho/Neuro – Med/Surg (21 beds: 7 private, 7 semi-private rooms)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
- Start Date: December 6, 2025
- End Date: March 7, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:30pm), including weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820 - $1950
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Navy blue (with navy or white jacket/undershirt)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (any state; driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from facility)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Basic arrhythmia recognition skills
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg units as needed (excluding ED and Behavioral Health)
- Strong attendance record and professional references
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to orthopedic and neurological patients, including post-surgical, seizure, and trauma cases
- Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 in a fast-paced Med/Surg hospital setting
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including hospitalists, charge nurses, and clinical support staff
- Administer medications and IV therapies (Heparin, Protonix drips)
- Monitor patients on telemetry (remote monitoring)
- Utilize respiratory support equipment (Bipap, Cpap, High Flow)
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Participate in patient admissions, discharges, and patient education
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and communication, adhering to hospital policies
