Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (Upstate New York)
• Assignment Length: 6 weeks (Start: 12/18/2025 – End: 1/29/2026)
• Facility Setting: Medical-Surgical Telemetry (Resource Pool, Float, ED Hold)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,100 - $2,250
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
• Orientation: 1 day
• Dress Code: Navy blue & white scrubs (solid colors in any combination)
• Documentation System: EPIC (recent experience required)
• Transportation: Personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation not available. All-season or snow tires needed November–April.

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York RN license preferred for local candidates)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical RN experience
• At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start)
• CMSRN certification preferred
• EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Ability to float to multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units as scheduled
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients (ages 25–99) in a Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting, including ED Hold patients
• Float between Med Surg Oncology (R5), Ortho (R6), Urology/ALC (R7), and other telemetry units as needed
• Perform clinical procedures such as IV insertions, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring
• Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, unit clerks, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Adhere to facility policies, professional standards, and dress code requirements
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet unit and patient care needs, including weekends and holidays
