• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
• Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (Finger Lakes, New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing (On-Site)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 4, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; every other weekend; holidays; 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800 - $1930

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (required for New York nursing jobs)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only, required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions
• Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide direct patient care, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
• Promote a healing environment by offering emotional support and comfort to patients and families
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions according to best clinical practices
• Accurately document care provided and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and hospital safety protocols
