PACU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Burlington, Vermont 05401
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: December 18, 2025
- End Date: January 15, 2026
- Contract Duration: 4 weeks
- Shift: 10-hour evening shifts (10:00–20:30 or 12:00–22:30); some Saturdays required
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,260 – $2,420
- Weekend and holiday shifts required
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November–April
PACU RN Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or compact state (required for Vermont nursing jobs)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
- Infusion specialty experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent high-acuity PACU RN experience in a large teaching hospital
- Proficient in critical care, arterial lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience providing post-anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients
- Recent EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Ability to work scheduled holidays and weekends
- Complete work history required for submission; explain employment gaps over 90 days
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to pediatric and adult patients in a clinical healthcare setting
- Monitor and manage patients with critical care needs, including arterial lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced, high-acuity PACU environment
- Administer medications and infusions as ordered by physicians
- Accurately document patient care and assessments in EPIC EMR
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs and PACU unit demands
