• Location: Denton, TX 76210 (North Texas)
• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• End Date: March 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Unit: Surgical Trauma Stepdown (25 beds, 5th floor, Main Building)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1360 - $1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), stepdown, or acute care nursing
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong clinical communication and customer service skills
• Preferred: Trauma or orthopedic nursing experience; proficiency with Meditech EMR

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute surgical, trauma, and post-operative needs
• Monitor and manage patients with neurological, cardiac, vascular, and respiratory conditions
• Administer and titrate IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dobutamine, and others) as ordered
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs every 4 hours
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float as needed to stepdown service lines, including Progressive Care and Heart & Vascular Units
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
• Promote a positive, adaptable, and team-oriented environment
