Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

Location: Portland, Maine (04102) – Maine nursing jobs
Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
Start Date: November 30, 2025
End Date: February 28, 2026
Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2050-$2200
Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (24 beds)
Patient Ratios: Day shift goal 1:4 (max 1:5)
EMR: EPIC
Dress Code: Scrubs (no specific color required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Maine or compact state
BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
Inpatient acute medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
Completion of required education modules: Stroke, SI/Restraints, telemetry, blood glucose
Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
Strong teamwork, adaptability, and positive attitude

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings
Administer medications and manage IVs using PLUM and Stryker equipment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Accurately document patient care in EPIC EMR
Float to other nursing units as required by hospital needs
Maintain compliance with hospital appearance and safety policies
