ER RN Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Room RN in a Level I Trauma Center
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR (electronic medical records)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required for ER nursing jobs)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency healthcare environment
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity and clinical protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care and interventions using EPIC EMR
- Respond to trauma activations and medical emergencies as part of the Level I Trauma team
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
