Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Midland, TX 79701 (Texas nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Start Date: January 12, 2026
- End Date: May 4, 2026 (16-week contract; minimum 13 weeks considered)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (10 beds, fluctuating census)
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 (days, nights, weekends)
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Charting System: Cerner (Cerner experience preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
L&D RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; pending license accepted, must be active before start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Charge RN experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS (AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate, FHM preferred)
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Ability to float to Antepartum as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must pass on-site drug screening
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy L&D unit
- Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum)
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies
- Administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and perform patient assessments
- Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide patient education, and ensure infant safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection control protocols
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
