Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Kirksville, Missouri 63501
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg), occasional float to critical care/step-down for low acuity patients
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6 (based on acuity)
• EMR System: MedHost
• Scrub Color: Any dark solid color

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown nursing preferred
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Proficient in caring for both medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Ability to float to critical care for low acuity patients as needed
• Willingness to work at least one major and one minor holiday during assignment (seasonal requirements may apply)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using MedHost EMR
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to critical care unit for low acuity patients as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to hospital policies and patient safety protocols
