PCU RN Job Details
- Location: Lebanon, NH (Zip: 03756) – New Hampshire nursing jobs
- Unit: Inpatient Surgical Unit 4D (32 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/21/2026)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Shift: 8-hour rotating shifts (07:00-15:30 Days; may include other shifts)
- On-Call: Yes
- RN Patient Ratios: Days: 4:1, Nights: 5:1
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330 - $2500
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or surgical unit RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New Hampshire or compact state
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Clinical skills in post-surgical patient care (vascular, thoracic, colorectal, general surgery)
- Experience with chest tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, complex wounds, central lines, and telemetry
- Competency with IV drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines, tubes, and drains
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from complex surgical procedures
- Monitor and manage patients with ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis
- Administer and titrate IV drips and medications according to physician orders
- Care for and maintain central lines, chest tubes, and other post-surgical devices
- Perform blood draws and wound care for surgical patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to related units as required to support patient care needs
