ER RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Emergency Department
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• Shifts: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours per week; facility may call off up to 3 times during the assignment
• Weekend Coverage: Scheduled as needed (weekend nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Black (not provided)
• Parking: Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NM or compact state; New Mexico RN license can be pending at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (Level I Trauma RN experience strongly preferred; will consider 1.5 years with strong background)
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with required ER RN experience considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission), NIHSS (can be pending at compliance due date)
• No RQI certifications accepted
• No local candidates within 75 miles of Albuquerque
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Ability to float to Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma areas as needed
• Personal transportation required

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department, including trauma and critical care cases
• Administer IV and oral medications, following the seven medication rights and using bar code scanning
• Document and communicate clinical findings clearly and accurately
• Perform triage, trauma/resuscitation, and manage a variety of acute medical and surgical emergencies
• Care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including neuro-trauma, ortho trauma, STEMI, stroke, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other nursing units within scope as required to meet facility needs
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training modules as required
