Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, IL 61614
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: December 29, 2025
• End Date: March 28, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2050 - $2200

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, email, web browser)
• Demonstrated multicultural sensitivity and strong critical thinking skills

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practice
• Assess patient status through interviews, observation, and physical assessment
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress toward expected outcomes
• Modify care plans as needed based on ongoing evaluation
• Complete all required nursing documentation accurately and timely
• Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to ongoing self-development
• Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment as needed
• Promote patient and staff safety, including proper use of lift equipment
• Obtain lab specimens and perform bedside lab testing per provider orders and hospital policies
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and utilize additional healthcare resources as necessary
• Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively within the nursing team
• Provide clear, goal-focused shift reports and advocate for patients as needed
• Utilize effective communication and teamwork strategies to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of patients and families
