Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Sioux City, IA 51104 (Iowa nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Estimated Deliveries per Month: 160-180
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2200-$2360

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a high-volume hospital (200-300 deliveries/month preferred)
• High-risk and high-acuity L&D nursing experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience a plus
• Willingness to float to Post-Partum unit 1-2 shifts per week
• Experience with EPIC STORK or similar EMR preferred
• Active Iowa RN license or compact state RN license
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
• Ability to provide care to a large non-English speaking patient population
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local travelers)

Key Responsibilities for Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and high-acuity cases
• Perform triage and patient assessments prior to physician arrival
• Circulate and assist in deliveries in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Float to Post-Partum unit as needed to provide clinical support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Demonstrate cultural competence and effective communication with diverse patient populations
• Participate in required orientation and ongoing clinical training
