Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Washington, DC 20010 (prime location for DC nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130
- On-Call: 6 calls per 6-week schedule
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule
- Unit: Main Operating Room (21 rooms, 60 cases/day)
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending accepted with proof at submission; must have in hand prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- BCLS certification (required for all RN jobs)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Experience with general OR procedures, bariatric surgery, ENT, neurology, orthopedics, and urology cases
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Two (2) supervisor references required
OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing diverse surgical procedures, including total joints, spine, craniotomy, free flaps, cytoreduction, bariatric, and ENT/OMF surgeries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as IV, radiology, pharmacy, and lift teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards throughout the surgical process
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend shift coverage as scheduled
- Float to other units of similar or lower acuity as required by the healthcare facility
- Comply with all hospital policies, including mandatory flu vaccination
