Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
• Healthcare Setting: Pulmonary Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (36 beds)
• Job Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm-7:00am), every other weekend and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
• Parking: On-site available
• EMR System: Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license or Compact Registered Nurse license (no temporary licenses)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• At least 18 months total RN experience
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care to patients with lung diseases and respiratory conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy
• Maintain accurate patient records using Meditech EMR
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and treatment plans
• Float to other units or hospitals as required
• Work scheduled weekends and holidays
