PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Portsmouth, NH 03801 (New Hampshire nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit (4th Floor, Main Building)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Dress Code: Professional scrubs (no specific color required)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880-$2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Preferred: Neuro and trauma nursing experience, NIHSS and TNCC certifications
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a 23-bed neuro trauma progressive care unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and bedside monitors
• Care for patients with chest tubes, subdural drains, chronic vents, and high-flow oxygen
• Assist with procedures such as EEGs and chest tube management
• Collaborate with RNs and aides to maintain a 4:1 patient ratio
• Float as needed to all inpatient units, including ICU and Emergency Department (ED)
• Accurately document care and interventions using Meditech EMR
