PCU Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii (96720) – Explore Hawaii’s lush landscapes, waterfalls, and vibrant local culture while working in a supportive healthcare environment.
- Unit: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) – 15-bed unit featuring 3 Step Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds.
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Hours: 36 hours per week after orientation
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (day or night available)
- Open Positions: 3 Registered Nurse jobs available
- Floating: Required to all acute care units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)
- Dress Code: Scrubs
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Hawaii nursing license required by start date; assistance provided for out-of-state nurses)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and telemetry nursing experience preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- PALS certification preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Must arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
- Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks
- Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis medication administration systems
- Operate BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment
- Float to other acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
