Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Florence, Alabama (35630) – Northern Alabama healthcare jobs
• Setting: Acute care, Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed hours)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1730–$1820
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Unit Size: 18 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Alabama or compact state
• BLS certification (required)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg hospital setting
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Participate in unit activities and support a positive healthcare team environment
• Float to other medical units as required
