Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Augusta, Georgia 30901
- Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Surgery – Operating Room (OR)
- Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Shift Schedule: Day shifts; alternating weekly between 5x8-hour (6:30am–3:00pm) and 4x8-hour (8:30am–5:00pm); 72 hours per two-week period
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Patient Population: Pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- Unit Details: 5 operating rooms, average daily census of 18
- Charting System: Epic, Pyxis
- Scrub Color: Provided by facility
- Weekends: No weekend shifts required
- Floating: Rarely required
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Georgia RN license or Compact state license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum 1 year of operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting
- BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Ability to provide clinical support for diverse patient populations (pediatrics to geriatrics)
- Availability to work major holidays if scheduled during assignment
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO); RTO must be submitted with application
- Compliance with healthcare facility onboarding and orientation requirements
Outpatient RN Responsibilities
- Serve as operating room circulator for outpatient surgical specialties such as retina surgery, total hip/knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology and reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry
- Maintain a safe, sterile environment by adhering to infection control and universal protocol procedures
- Coordinate patient care from pre-op through post-op, ensuring accurate specimen handling and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Utilize Epic and Pyxis systems for clinical documentation and medication management
- Demonstrate proficiency in wound management and surgical safety practices (fire, laser, radiation safety)
- Support and educate patients and families throughout the surgical experience
- Flexibility to stay beyond scheduled shift based on OR room completion ("dot/double dot" system)
