- Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Unit: Medical Surgical Oncology (6S Medicine)
- Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend)
- Start Date: January 12, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient Med/Surg nursing experience
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (must be able to administer chemotherapy)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Clinical skills: Med/Surg, colostomy care, port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions
- Ability to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start

RN Responsibilities – Oncology & Medical Surgical Nursing
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with oncology and medical-surgical diagnoses
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection)
- Monitor and manage central lines, peripheral lines, ports, and surgical drains
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, etc.)
- Float to similar units or alternate care locations within the hospital as required
- Participate in storm/hurricane team response and disaster preparedness
- Attend monthly staff meetings and complete required training modules
- Document patient care using EPIC and manage medications with PYXIS
