Key Job Details – Med/Surg Tele RN
- Location: York, Pennsylvania (zip 17403) – Pennsylvania healthcare jobs
- Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (56 beds: 44 high acuity med surg, 12 IMCU)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend and holidays
- Hours: 36 per week
- Type: Travel RN, On-Site
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania (no license hits)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (2 years preferred)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
- EPIC charting experience required
- ACLS certification preferred
- First-time travel nurses welcome
- 8-hour orientation (pre-start modules required)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Tobacco and fragrance-free healthcare facility
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor and manage patients with pulmonary conditions (COPD, pneumonia, trach patients, high flow modalities), end-stage renal disease, CHF, stroke overflow, ETOH withdrawal, GI bleeding
- Utilize Epic for clinical charting and documentation
- Administer medications, manage cardiac drips (no titration), insulin drips (IMCU), and perform wound care
- Perform procedures: central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy care, feeding tube management, tracheostomy care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)
- Float to rehab or other hospital units as needed
- Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions
- Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
