• Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202
• Unit: B4 PCU (Medical Progressive Care Unit – near ICU acuity)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratios: 1:5
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
• Minimum 18 months recent experience in PCU, Stepdown, IMC, or DOU nursing jobs (2 years preferred)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in titrating cardiac drips, IV management, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in trauma-designated facilities (Level I-IV) preferred
• Ability to float to Med-Surg, ICU, and other hospital units
• Willingness to precept or be shadowed by nursing students in a teaching hospital
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two supervisor references required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics with complex medical conditions (multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary issues)
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips; manage stable ventilators and near-ICU acuity patients
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Start and maintain IVs; manage central and peripheral lines; follow heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Provide tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
• Float to Med-Surg, ICU, and other units as needed
• Escort patients for procedures as required
• Participate in charge nurse duties and precepting responsibilities
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies
